About the Opportunity

Modus is building a network of experienced Retail Fashion Transformation Directors to help leading fashion, apparel and retail businesses identify where they need to transform, unlock business value and translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes.

Through our Retail Fashion Value Chain Workbench, we enable business leaders to understand their end-to-end value chain, identify performance gaps, uncover opportunities and establish a clear, prioritised transformation agenda.

We are looking for senior industry professionals with strong retail fashion networks, board-level credibility and proven enterprise transformation experience. These individuals will act as trusted transformation partners to business leaders, introducing the Modus proposition, developing client relationships, securing Value Chain Diagnosis engagements and helping shape the subsequent transformation journey.

The Role

As a Retail Fashion Transformation Director, you will operate at the intersection of industry expertise, executive engagement, business development and transformation delivery.

You will leverage your industry relationships and professional experience to engage CEOs, COOs, CFOs, business directors and transformation leaders, helping them recognise opportunities to improve performance across their value chain.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Executive Engagement: Build trusted relationships with board members, C-suite executives and senior functional leaders across retail fashion and apparel.
• Business Development: Identify target organisations, leverage your industry network, initiate strategic conversations and develop qualified transformation opportunities.
• Value Chain Diagnosis: Introduce and lead client engagements using the Modus Retail Fashion Value Chain Workbench to assess business performance, identify gaps and uncover transformation opportunities.
• Strategic Alignment: Facilitate senior stakeholder discussions to align business priorities, transformation objectives and expected value outcomes.
• Transformation Roadmaps: Translate diagnostic findings into prioritised initiatives, business cases, transformation roadmaps and actionable recommendations.
• Programme Development: Help clients progress from diagnosis into wider transformation programmes spanning strategy, operating models, merchandising, product development, sourcing, supply chain, retail operations, digital, AI and customer experience.
• Transformation Delivery: Apply your experience in programme leadership, governance, stakeholder management, benefits realisation and execution to support successful client outcomes.
• Strategic Partnerships: Develop long‑term client relationships and collaborate with Modus specialists and delivery partners to expand the transformation opportunity.

The Experience We Seek

We are looking for individuals who bring a combination of industry credibility, executive relationships and practical transformation experience.

• Significant experience in retail fashion, apparel, lifestyle brands, fashion retail or the wider consumer industry.
• Established relationships with senior executives, business owners, board members and decision‑makers.
• A proven track record of leading or contributing to enterprise transformation, business change, operating‑model redesign or strategic improvement programmes.
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders, shaping strategic decisions and aligning cross‑functional leadership teams.
• Commercial capability to originate opportunities, develop client propositions and convert executive conversations into consulting engagements.
• The ability to understand complex business challenges, connect operational issues to strategic outcomes and communicate recommendations with confidence.
• Experience managing transformation programmes, consulting engagements, PMOs, business cases or benefits realisation is highly desirable.
