There’s a big difference between learning how to design beautiful spaces and learning how to create workplaces that genuinely improve the way people feel, think and work. Our client, a highly regarded workplace design and build studio based in the centre of Bath, is looking for a Junior Interior Designer to join their growing creative team. This is the kind of opportunity that rarely comes around for designers at the early stages of their career. Not because it’s simply another junior role, but because of the level of exposure, responsibility and support on offer from day one.
You’ll join a collaborative, ambitious and genuinely creative studio working across commercial office fit-outs, workplace refurbishments and design-led interior projects throughout the UK. One week you could be helping shape the concept behind a fast-paced workplace transformation, the next supporting detailed drawing packages, client presentations, finishes selections or site visits. You won’t be boxed into one part of the process. You’ll be involved in the journey from early ideas through to delivery, learning directly from experienced Senior Designers, Creative Leads and technical specialists within a business that actively invests in developing its people.
The studio itself has a brilliant energy to it. It’s fast-paced, highly collaborative and genuinely social. The team work together in the Bath studio throughout the week, sharing ideas, mentoring one another and creating an environment where people can develop quickly both creatively and professionally. What stood out to us most about the business is that they hire on attitude just as much as experience. They’re looking for curious people. Designers who genuinely care about the industry, want to improve, ask questions and are excited by the pace and creativity of workplace design. For the right person, this could be the role that properly launches your career.
What they’re looking for:
- A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or similar
- At least 2 years of industry experience, including exposure to workplace or commercial office design
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude
- Genuine passion for workplace interiors and design
- An eagerness to learn and develop within a fast-paced design environment
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite or Revit would be advantageous
What’s on offer:
- Salary of £30,000 - £34,000
- Structured mentoring and career development
- Training and support around software, including Revit
- Exposure to a wide variety of workplace projects
- Collaborative studio culture with strong progression opportunities
- Quarterly bonus scheme
- Regular CPDs, training sessions and supplier engagement
- Social culture, including Wine Wednesdays and Friday team cooldowns
- Additional volunteer days
- A highly creative and supportive working environment
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Junior Designer looking to step into a design-led workplace studio where they can learn quickly, gain genuine project exposure and become part of a business with a strong reputation and exciting growth plans.
