Modus Accountants are looking for a Payroll and Bookkeeper assistant to join the team at their offices at Frilford Heath Golf Club, Abingdon. It is essential that the right candidate has experience completing bookkeeping and administration tasks for multiple clients within an accountancy firm. Often being the first point of contact for clients with general account queries, you must be confident and enjoy interacting with clients.

Providing high quality accountancy services delivered quickly and efficiently.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete bookkeeping tasks, including VAT returns for a portfolio of clients
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with month end payroll
  • Answer and direct phone calls and liaise with clients
  • Assist with filings to Companies House including company secretarial services
  • Assist with client/HMRC registrations
  • Assist with credit control

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full UK driving license.
  • Bookkeeping Experience 3+ years - preferably within an accountancy firm

SKILLS

  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • You must be a team player with a positive can-do approach
  • Methodical and able to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Experience with Xero accounting software is preferred but not essential
  • Proactive nature and ability to work in a small team environment
  • Ability to learn new skills and problem solve

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000 to £29,000 per year, depending on experience

Additional pay: Company Bonus Structure
