About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an organised and driven Department Manager to support the Menswear RTW department within a leading luxury retail environment in London. The successful candidate will support the Department Manager in the efficient day-to-day running of the department, ensuring commercial and operational targets are achieved, clients receive an exceptional level of service, and the team remains motivated and high performing. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work Monday to Sunday on a rotating shift pattern, 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Experience & Sales Leadership
- Lead by example, mentoring and training the team to elevate sales performance and client service standards.
- Support the Department Manager with the implementation of local client development strategies.
- Build strong internal relationships to support cross-selling opportunities across multiple product categories.
- Develop long-term client loyalty through relationship building with top-tier and high-value clients.
- Monitor and drive sales performance within the department.
- Resolve customer concerns efficiently and professionally.
- Team Management & Operations
- Support the Department Manager in delivering departmental commercial objectives while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop strong relationships with Head Office stakeholders to provide feedback on clientele, product performance, and market trends.
- Support stock ordering and inventory management where required.
- Lead, organise, and delegate daily operational tasks across the team.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, motivation, and development of team members.
- Contribute to minimising stock loss and controlling operational expenses.
- Retail Standards & Brand Representation
- Support the team in maintaining exceptional housekeeping, VM, and presentation standards throughout the department.
- Maintain knowledge of selling systems, cash handling, payment, and exchange procedures.
- Ensure all retail standards are consistently upheld.
- Support all security and loss prevention measures to protect company assets.
- Ensure the department operates in line with company administrative systems and procedures.
- Carry out any additional duties as required by senior management or Head Office.
- Represent the brand professionally at client events and external activations where required.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience at Assistant Manager or Department Manager level within luxury fashion or premium retail.
- Strong knowledge of men’s ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong coaching and people development capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in client acquisition and long-term relationship management.
- Strong understanding of luxury fashion, trends, and the contemporary menswear market.
- Passion for luxury retail and delivering exceptional client experiences.
- Fluency in a second language is advantageous.
