The Role:

We’re hiring a Special Project Associate to work on some of the most important strategic and operational challenges at Modulr. You’ll be part of a lean, high-performing team that partners across the business (commercial, product, operations, and finance) to solve complex problems, build models, and accelerate decision-making.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in ambiguity, has strong analytical horsepower, and wants exposure to a wide range of topics as part of a growing, ambitious fintech.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support strategic projects across the business, from initial problem scoping through to implementation and measurement.
  • Develop pricing recommendations based on commercial strategy, product value, and customer segmentation.
  • Identify and analyse operational inefficiencies, collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement improvements.
  • Support go-to-market and growth strategies for new and existing products, using data and structured thinking to guide priorities.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform Modulr’s positioning and long-term roadmap.
  • Use AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Replit, copilots) to accelerate analysis, automate repetitive tasks, and generate insight at speed.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior stakeholders, up to Exec level.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with teams across Commercial, Product, Operations, Finance, and Data.

About You:

  • Previous experience in consulting, a high-growth tech company, finance, or another analytical, execution-heavy environment.
  • Strong data skills - comfortable working with SQL or BI tools.
  • You instinctively leverage AI technologies and tools to accelerate analysis, automate workflows, and enhance decision-making.
  • A STEM or other highly quantitative degree from a globally recognised university is preferred.
  • You are a hyper-logical and structured thinker - you enjoy breaking complex problems into smaller parts and using data to guide your thinking.
  • You have a track record of being a top performer in multiple settings.
  • You are naturally curious and driven by impact - you’ve demonstrated this through side projects, internships, academic work, or previous roles.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable working with stakeholders across technical and commercial teams.
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments, take ownership, and move quickly from insight to execution.

What You’ll Get:

  • Exposure to a broad set of problems across the business, with C-level visibility.
  • A steep learning curve and the chance to build a unique, cross-functional skillset.
  • The opportunity to drive meaningful change inside a fast-scaling fintech.
  • A collaborative, supportive environment that values curiosity, impact, and speed.

What Can Modulr Offer You?

  • Share Options Incentive Scheme.
  • Company Bonus - the more successful we are together, the greater the reward.
  • Flexible benefits - £1000 to spend on a variety of benefits for you to choose from which suit your lifestyle and needs, including Private medical insurance, gym membership, health checks etc.
  • Perkbox - enjoy freebies and discounts on many other products and services.
  • 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) & your birthday off - choose which days you take off to relax and/or spend time with loved ones.
  • Learning Opportunities – on joining Modulr you will embark on our 2-day onboarding programme, called ModStart, to be equipped with the Modulr know-how and arm you with the tools you need to be successful from day 1!
