What You’ll Do:

  • Payroll Admin: Gather monthly payroll inputs (new starters, leavers, salary changes, allowances, deductions). Validate on‑call / overtime payments and add to PayFit. Process statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SSP, SHPP) and ensure correct evidence is received. Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and ensure payroll data is always up to date.
  • Employee Support: Respond to employee payroll queries quickly and accurately. Issue employment letters relating to pay (confirmation of salary, mortgage references, etc.). Work with the payroll provider to resolve discrepancies.
  • Employee Relations Case Admin: Log and track all ER cases (sickness, performance, conduct, grievances). Support advisors and managers with case notes, scheduling meetings, and preparing documents. Maintain accurate, confidential ER case files in line with GDPR.
  • Formal Process: Draft invite letters, outcome letters and supporting documentation. Attend meetings as a notetaker and provide administrative support. Support investigations by gathering documentation (policies, evidence, past records).
  • Sickness & Attendance: Monitor sickness absence triggers and flag cases requiring manager intervention. Manage fit notes and ensure payroll has correct absence data. Support the preparation of OH referrals and follow‑ups.
  • Performance & Conduct: Prepare documentation for informal and formal processes. Support managers in following the correct procedure. Escalate risks to the People Partner or ER specialist early.
  • Benefits Admin: Process joiners/leavers on benefit platforms. Manage benefit queries and liaise with providers. Support annual renewals and employee communication.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting: Identify bottlenecks in payroll or ER processes and suggest improvements. Build simple templates, trackers, or FAQs to streamline operations. Produce routine reports: sickness, turnover, headcount, payroll accuracy logs.
