Who We Are
Our vision is a world where all businesses are powered by embedded payments. Modulr enables businesses, from SMEs to Enterprise, to grow their revenue, drive efficiencies and deliver fantastic customer experiences, by embedding payments into their products and operating systems. We do this by providing products and services which allow our clients to efficiently collect, reconcile and disburse funds instantly via a range of payment schemes, accounts, and card products, fully controllable via API. Modulr’s regulated e‑money accounts and payment services can be delivered to customers through Partners under Modulr’s regulated permissions. These Partners embed the services into their own products and Modulr outsources various critical activities to them. The Partner Oversight team is responsible for ensuring that partners operate in alignment with Modulr’s standards and regulatory obligations, while safeguarding the integrity of outsourced controls and overall business viability.
The role will be well suited to individuals who enjoy being client facing, analysing, and managing a broad range of risks, are deeply curious, enjoy learning and a high degree of variety within their role.
- Owning a portfolio of Partners, having a deep understanding of their business model, use of Modulr’s products and services, and how those come together to fit within the regulatory framework and what risks exist as a result.
- Carrying out day‑to‑day activities in line with the Partner Oversight Framework, with the objective of managing risk for Modulr and working with Partners to ensure they reach successful Compliance outcomes.
- Liaising directly with Partners through scheduled engagement to maintain and develop the relationship.
- Actioning requests from Partners to grow and develop their business with Modulr’s support.
- Identifying and proposing opportunities for continuous improvement in the Partner Oversight function, for example through training, tooling, and improved processes.
- Working with internal teams to maintain a strong control environment and deliver a coordinated experience for our Partners.
- Act as a central contact for Compliance matters in relation to the Partner, and a source of expertise on the activities of the Partner where required.
- Engaging in training and quality assurance activities across the team.
- Where possible, provide support and insights to other Partner Oversight Analysts, including sharing learnings and insights.
What you’ll need
- You are deeply curious, keen to embrace and understand the complexities of clients’ business models, use of Modulr products, and how these fit within the regulatory framework.
- You enjoy being directly client facing, building relationships, and working collaboratively with clients to achieve successful outcomes, whilst also being willing to handle direct conversations where clients are not delivering on their obligations.
- You are structured and organised, able to plan and manage your own workload.
- You are able to handle the competing pressures of immediate requests alongside ongoing delivery of the Partner Oversight framework.
- You are comfortable working in a scaling business, where time is critical, and things change frequently.
- You are analytical and can assess risks to define appropriate controls based on these, communicating the links, effectiveness, and any potential gaps clearly to others.
Nice to haves:
- Risk & Compliance experience beyond Anti Money Laundering.
- Background of working in regulated financial services.
