We are seeking an experienced SOX Senior Manager to lead the SOX compliance program end to end. This role will have full ownership of SOX processes, oversight of testing and remediation activities, and responsibility for senior stakeholder engagement, including external auditors and the Audit Committee. The role is ideal for an experienced Big 4 / Top 6 Manager looking to step into a broader leadership position with increased ownership and visibility.
Key Responsibilities- Own the SOX process end to end, including planning, execution, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and oversee SOX testing and remediation activities, ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.
- Review and challenge work performed by SOX Accountants, providing coaching and technical guidance.
- Troubleshoot complex remediation issues, working closely with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, supporting and leading difficult or sensitive audit discussions.
- Prepare and deliver Audit Committee materials, including SOX status updates, key risks, and remediation progress.
- Drive consistency and quality across SOX documentation, testing approaches, and control frameworks.
- Play a hands-on role in the IFS ERP environment, including control design, testing, and ongoing enhancements.
- Support the evolution of SOX controls in line with business and systems changes.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, PCAOB, and SOX requirements.
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in SOX testing and compliance, gained from a testing perspective.
- Background in Risk or Audit (internal or external), with direct hands-on SOX testing experience.
- Experience within a Big 4 / Top 6 firm at Manager level or above.
- Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
- Proven experience reviewing work, managing teams, and owning delivery.
- Experience working with ERP systems; IFS experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and review capabilities.
- Deep understanding of SOX frameworks, internal controls, and risk management.
- Confident communicator with the ability to handle complex and challenging audit discussions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to remediation.
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement.
- High attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Experience developing Audit Committee papers.
- End-to-end ownership of a global SOX program.
