We are looking for someone to lead tracking and measurement implementation across our client base.
This is a hands-on build role with genuine client ownership, not an oversight role.
You will audit and rebuild measurement setups end to end: GA4 and Google Tag Manager, server-side tagging, consent and CMP configuration, paid media conversion tracking, CRM integrations and app measurement.
You will write the specifications developers build from, run the QA that catches problems before clients do, and sit in front of client teams to explain what you have done and why it matters.
Salary up to £45k DOE
This is a hybrid role that will require travelling to our Leeds HQ.
- What you’ll be doing
- Measurement architecture and implementation
- Audit GA4 properties end to end — data streams, key events, custom dimensions and metrics, channel groupings, cross-domain configuration, internal and staging traffic exclusion, attribution settings and data retention.
- Rebuild and configure GA4 to a documented standard, including e-commerce and enhanced measurement.
- Own GTM web containers: audit, restructure, naming conventions and governance, trigger and variable design, and disciplined version control and publishing.
- Design and implement server-side GTM — hosting via Stape, Addingwell or GCP, custom clients and tag transports, and phased migration from client-side without breaking data continuity.
- Diagnose measurement failures: duplicate transactions, inflated user counts, misfiring tags, attribution gaps and cross-platform discrepancies, using live debugging, Big Query and platform interfaces.
- Consent and compliance
- Implement and validate Google Consent Mode v2 across both client-side and server-side environments.
- Manually audit hard-coded tags across client sites to confirm they genuinely respect consent. This is the work most audits skip, and it is where the real exposure sits.
- Paid media measurement
- Audit, build and validate conversion tracking and pixels across Google Ads, Meta, Tik Tok, Linked In, Microsoft Ads and affiliate platforms.
- Implement enhanced conversions, Meta Conversions API, Tik Tok Events API and equivalent server-side event flows.
- Resolve deduplication, event match quality and consent-driven signal loss so that automated bidding is working from data we trust.
- Work directly with our paid media teams to translate measurement problems into campaign decisions, and vice versa.
- Data and CRM integration
- Integrate Salesforce with Google Ads and GA4 for offline conversion import and closed-loop reporting.
- Extend the same approach to Microsoft Ads, Linked In and other platforms using Zapier, native connectors or custom endpoints.
- Configure and use Big Query exports for validation, reconciliation and reporting.
- App measurement
- Audit and implement app tracking across Firebase and GA4, including event taxonomy and parameter design.
- Handle App Tracking Transparency and in-app consent, and audit SDK behaviour against the consent state.
- Work with mobile measurement partners on attribution setup, SKAd Network and deduplication against web activity.
- Specification, QA and documentation
- Write bespoke data layer specifications that development teams can build from without coming back with questions.
- Run structured QA before and after every release, with a documented test plan rather than a spot check.
- Produce audit reports and implementation documentation that clients keep and actually use.
- Set and maintain the internal standards, templates and naming conventions the wider team works to.
- What you’ll bring
- Hands-on implementation experience with GA4 and Google Tag Manager, in an agency, consultancy or complex in-house environment.
- Demonstrable server-side tagging experience.
- Strong working knowledge of consent management and Consent Mode v2, and the confidence to audit tag behaviour manually rather than trusting a vendor dashboard.
- Conversion tracking experience across major ad platforms.
- Ability to write clear technical specifications a developer can build from.
- Able to own a project plan, hold a timeline and flag risk early.
- CRM-to-ad-platform integration, particularly Salesforce, and familiarity with tools like Zapier for the platforms without native connectors.
- App measurement: Firebase, GA4 for apps, and any of the major MMPs (Branch, Apps Flyer, Adjust).
- Experience running training sessions or workshops for non-technical audiences.
