We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, battery operators, energy traders, major oil & gas companies and government organisations depend on to make crucial decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room.
Founded in 2019, we’re 100+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast. If you’re someone who enjoys owning customer relationships, influencing decision-makers, navigating commercial discussions and delivering strong retention results, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role: We’re looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Account Manager with a start-up mindset and a SaaS background to manage a portfolio of approximately 30-40 client accounts. Your primary objective will be to retain accounts and grow revenue by becoming deeply embedded within your clients’ organisations. You’ll work closely with Customer Success, Product and Energy Analyst teams to help customers maximise value from the platform while identifying opportunities to strengthen and expand relationships. Success in this role comes from building trust, understanding client objectives, proactively managing risk and confidently leading renewal discussions.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage a portfolio of 30-40 customer accounts across the renewable energy sector.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Own customer renewals and retention targets, protecting recurring revenue across your portfolio.
- Lead commercial discussions, negotiations and renewal conversations.
- Identify opportunities for account growth through upselling and cross-selling additional products and services.
- Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business, objectives and challenges.
- Conduct regular account reviews and strategic customer meetings.
- Monitor account health and proactively address risks before they impact customer satisfaction or renewal outcomes.
- Represent Modo at client meetings, industry events and occasional international visits.
About You: We’re looking for someone who combines commercial awareness with exceptional relationship-building skills. You’ll likely come from a SaaS, software or subscription-based environment where customer retention isn’t guaranteed and where you’ve had to actively earn renewals through strong stakeholder management, customer engagement and commercial conversations. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple relationships simultaneously and know how to prioritise effectively across a varied portfolio of accounts.
What We’re Looking For:
- 4+ years’ experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Customer Growth or a similar client-facing commercial role in a SaaS, energy or tech environment.
- Experience managing a portfolio of customer accounts with responsibility for renewals, retention and account growth.
- A proven track record of retaining and generating revenue.
- Strong commercial acumen and confidence leading customer conversations.
- Ability to manage, prioritise and retain a large portfolio of accounts.
- A curious, proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
The Type of Person Who Thrives Here: You’ll be someone who:
- Thrives in dynamic sales environments.
- Enjoys building genuine relationships with customers.
- Takes ownership and accountability for commercial outcomes.
- Is naturally curious and asks great questions whilst being persuasive, credible and confident.
