About Modo Energy
The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it. We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world’s most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there’s a good chance Modo data was in the room. Founded in 2019, we’re 75+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid. $30M Series B, AI‑native, and moving fast. This is a rare chance to join a category‑defining company at the moment it’s scaling globally.
The Role
This is a part‑time, in‑person Office Assistant role based in our Euston office in London. You’ll be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, ~8:30am–6:30pm, with additional availability expected for events, team offsites, and the occasional weekend ask. This is not a quiet role. No two days are the same. You’ll be handed things with minimal context and expected to figure them out. You’ll get direct, honest feedback — often — and you’ll need to both welcome it and act on it immediately. The ceiling here is genuinely high. Do the job well and it becomes whatever you’re capable of making it — full‑time EA, events lead, Chief of Staff. But you have to earn it.
What You’ll Do
- Own the day‑to‑day running of the London office — cleanliness, facilities, Wi‑Fi, vendor relationships, and anything that keeps the space functioning
- Manage the cleaning team and all facilities contractors
- Keep the office stocked with snacks, drinks, and supplies
- Plan and coordinate team social events
- Maintain and update office information for new hires and the broader team
- Coordinate on‑site interviews — logistics, hospitality, scheduling
- Manage guest visits from arrival to departure
- Support team offsites and leadership events
- Pick up whatever else needs doing — and there will always be something
What We’re Looking For
The Essentials
- Some experience in an administrative, operations, or office management role — you’ve done something like this before and you were good at it
- Direct, concise communication style — you say what you mean and you mean what you say
- High ownership mentality — you don’t wait to be told twice, and you don’t let things fall through the cracks
- Composure under pressure — fast‑paced environments don’t rattle you, they energise you
- Strong organisational instincts — you track details, follow through, and close loops without being chased
- Comfortable picking up new technology quickly — you actively seek out tools, including AI, that make you faster and better at your job
Nice To Have
- Experience at a startup or high‑growth company
- Familiarity with tools like Slack, Notion, Google Workspace
- Interest in growing into a broader operations or EA function
