Inspection Services is a core part of the Manheim Inventory Solutions business and is the number one provider of end of lease vehicle inspection and collection services. Inspection Services offers its customers a seamless process that enables them to capture end of lease damage on the vehicle in the presence of the Hirer, thus providing a tangible return on investment. Inspection Services supports the auction infrastructure by delivering these already inspected vehicles ready for sale. Inspection Services also delivers vehicles to auction centres outside the Manheim portfolio. By servicing our Customers, Inspection Services are a trusted business partner of most blue-chip leasing companies.
Scope of Role:
Reporting to a Team Leader, our upskilled drivers perform a pivotal role in the organisation, inspecting, collecting and delivering vehicles on behalf of both external and internal customers. Upskilled drivers act as a critical customer facing role within the operations team. You will consistently provide efficient and effective vehicle inspection and services to Manheim's customers. All Manheim vehicle inspectors are responsible for consistently achieving quality and quantity outputs in line with our SLAs and business targets. The upskilled driver role is an entry level vocation that offers the opportunity to become aware of differing aspects of the automotive industry. Working for Manheim, part of the Cox Automotive Europe business is both challenging and rewarding - those wishing to expand their working knowledge will be exposed to situations that will require lateral thinking and may also be required to put planning and organisational skills to the test.
Objectives for Role:
- Working alone or as part of a team carrying out single car collections and deliveries in a safe, timely and efficient manner as directed.
- Accurately complete and record all relevant information and mileages within TrackTrans.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times in line with Cox Automotive's company values.
- The ability to deal with customer complaints and defuse difficult situations in a calm manner.
- Accurately carry out inspections on cars, LCV and HGV vehicles using BVRLA fair wear and tear policy and specific account procedures to provide accurate and detailed reports to our customers.
- You must take high quality photos of the vehicles, additional equipment and all damage lines using all imaging aids to ensure the images taken are in line with current standard operating procedure/account procedures.
- You will have the ability to fully explain your findings on the vehicle back to the customer and answer any questions they may have.
- Download and then sync off the inspection whilst you are at the customer's address.
- Responsible for ensuring reporting of all vehicle accidents, damages and faults in a timely manner in line with company policy.
- Adhere to the Cox Automotive HSE policies and use PPE as necessary.
- You will have the ability to cope well under pressure and work effectively within a team.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Full driving licence held for more than 1 year.
- Able to cope well under pressure and work effectively within a team.
- Previous vehicle inspection and mechanical knowledge.

- Computer literate – able to use hand held device, email and system applications such as Teams and read basic spreadsheets.
