We’re on the lookout for a Lead Software Engineer to head up a brand-new squad within our Manheim Vehicle Services (MVS) business. MVS processes over 200,000 vehicles annually for major manufacturers, finance, and rental companies—this is your chance to make a real impact at scale. What You’ll Do Lead from the front : Be a hands-on technical leader, guiding a team of developers and QA engineers. Architect the future : Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performing systems using modern cloud-native technologies. Mentor and inspire : Help shape the next generation of engineering talent. Collaborate cross-functionally : Work closely with product managers, architects, and UX/UI teams to deliver exceptional digital products. Champion quality : Set the bar high for code quality, testing, and delivery standards. We’re modernising from a .NET Framework monolith to a microservices architecture in AWS. You’ll work with: Cloud : AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda, Aurora, DynamoDB, DocumentDB) Frontend : React Messaging : Kafka, SNS/SQS, EventBridge CI/CD : GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise What You Bring Proven experience leading agile development teams. Deep expertise in .NET, AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code. A passion for clean, scalable architecture and event-driven systems. Strong interpersonal skills—you know how to bring out the best in people. A delivery mindset with a focus on value, security, and resilience. Experience with microservices, TDD, and DevOps practices. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
