Position Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Plant Manager to lead the Airedale by Modine Leeds Plant.

Reporting responsibility for the overall performance of the site, this role is accountable for delivering against corporate goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with company policies, maintaining a safe working environment, and meeting customer requirements in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

The Plant Manager will be responsible for developing and executing capacity, capital investment, and financial plans that support the plant's operational and strategic objectives.

A key focus of the role will be fostering a culture of continuous improvement, driving operational excellence, and enhancing productivity across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership
  • Lead all manufacturing and plant operations to achieve business objectives and performance targets.
  • Ensure efficient production processes that meet customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Drive operational excellence through the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentoring the Plant Staff in the use of the 80/20 methodology and ensuring the continued development of 80/20 practice throughout the organisation and facility.
  • Monitor and improve key operational KPIs, including safety, quality, productivity, and delivery performance.
  • Development of short and long term operating and business plans that align and contribute to company goals and objectives.

Accurate planning, forecasting, analysis of variances, and implementation of corrective actions to achieve planned results.

  • Financial & Strategic Management
  • Develop and deliver annual operating plans aligned to business and corporate objectives.
  • Own plant financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability.
  • Create and implement capacity plans to support current and future customer demand.
  • Manage capital expenditure planning and investment projects to support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met through high-quality products and on-time delivery performance.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and key internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with wider business unit leadership teams to align plant activities with strategic objectives.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing leadership team and wider workforce.
  • Management of Plant Staff to align responsibilities and expectations to Company goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across all areas of the operation.
  • Lead organisational change initiatives and support the implementation of new technologies, systems, and processes.
  • Drive innovation and best practice sharing across the Leeds Plant and wider business unit.
  • Travel
  • Intermittent travel required to meet with customers, suppliers, other facilities, and Regional and Corporate meetings
