Moderna is seeking a talented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join the Immunoassays group on a 12‑month contract. The role supports running of Immunoassay development and clinical testing to support programs across multiple therapeutic areas. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the execution of experimental work required for assay development, qualification or validation, and the testing of clinical samples to return high quality data for clinical trials conducted by Moderna. The candidate will be a collaborative team member and an excellent communicator to coordinate the needs from multiple projects. The position will report to the Associate Director, Immunoassay UK.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Under the guidance of the study lead, be responsible for the quality and integrity of assigned immunoassay projects in support of clinical trials at Moderna.
  • Maintain the laboratory space.
  • Prepare media, chemicals and reagents as required, maintaining batch records, and assist with equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare laboratory experiments.
  • Conduct assay sample analysis.
  • Will be trained to Moderna‑specific procedures.
  • Deliver high quality data within defined timelines.
  • May author bioanalytical plans/reports and draft/review SOPs.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues and report issues to study/scientific lead.
  • Assume assigned general laboratory responsibilities.
  • Always ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain training records up to date.
  • Spend ≥85% of the time in the laboratory environment.
  • Occasionally the job may require overtime work or weekend shift as needed.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • BSC/MSc Degree in Biology, Biotechnology or Life sciences with experience in a lab environment.
  • Demonstrated level of independence and work ethics.
  • Good written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad Prism.
  • Preferable knowledge of working in a regulated environment (GCP, ISO standards).
  • Preferable experience with LIMS systems.
  • The position is site‑based, requiring full‑time presence at the Moderna site. Remote work is not eligible.
