Fixed Term Manufacturing Associate II in Oxford

In this role, you will operate at the heart of Moderna’s mRNA vaccine production, combining hands‑on manufacturing expertise with digital fluency in a highly advanced, technology‑driven environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient production of vaccines while continuously advancing operational excellence. Responsibilities

• Practice safe work habits and strictly adhere to Moderna’s safety procedures and guidelines.
• Follow gowning procedures and maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a compliant and safe working environment.
• Execute manufacturing operations in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), standard operating procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
• Operate production equipment with a high level of technical skill and precision.
• Troubleshoot routine equipment, process, and digital system issues with speed and accuracy.
• Perform routine basic maintenance activities including lubrication, mechanical checks, and filter changes using hand tools.
• Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure timely closure of documentation for commercial batch disposition.
• Participate in deviation investigations, including root cause analysis (RCA), and contribute to CAPA activities.
• Actively contribute to incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Apply performance management tools and work collaboratively to meet operational KPIs.
• Proactively identify and elevate compliance, quality, and health & Safety issues to Team Leads or Supervisors.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records and documentation.
• Participate in multiple cross‑functional projects within a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
• Support operational demands with flexibility to work off‑hours and overtime as required, aligned with corporate goals and commercial needs.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation by identifying opportunities for process, digital, and operational improvements.
• Operate effectively within a highly technological environment, leveraging digital tools and systems to enhance manufacturing performance.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
• This position is site‑based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full‑time. This position is not eligible for remote work.
• This role may require an enhanced pre‑employment check.

Preferred Qualifications

• A university degree with a specialization in Pharmaceutical production technology or equivalent.
• Experience with filtration and chromatography, and cold chain management a plus.
• Experience in audit / inspection preparation, understanding Health authority and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to collaborate fluidly with peers, leadership and cross‑functional support groups required.
• Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills required.
• Ability to maintain attention to detail while executing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
