Associate Director, Country Head Quality Assurance – UK & Ireland

Join Moderna as the Associate Director, Country Head Quality Assurance – UK & Ireland and be part of a pioneering team transforming medicine through mRNA technology. This role is based in London and oversees Moderna’s pharmaceutical quality operations across the region, playing a key leadership role in delivering UK commercial and government partnership commitments.

The successful candidate will act as the Responsible Person (RP) and/or Responsible Person for Import (RPi) on the wholesale distribution license, ensuring compliance with all GxP standards and EU GDP requirements. You will lead a dedicated quality team, oversee product distribution, batch monitoring, and strategic quality initiatives, and serve as the primary quality interface with authorities, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring QMS implementation and GDP compliance as the Responsible Person (RP/RPi).
  • Leading the integration of quality functions for UK government contracts and participating in the UK Quality Council.
  • Overseeing distribution system implementation and ensuring product integrity.
  • Maintaining oversight of warehousing and logistics providers, including complaints, deviations, and sample monitoring.
  • Preparing for inspections, certifications, and audits across the UK & Ireland.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in quality, regulatory, or pharmacovigilance.
  • Strong influence, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand GxP regulations deeply.
