We're looking for an experienced and inspiring finance leader to shape the financial strategy and performance of MTG's newly established Midcore District, a collective of world‐class studios creating genre‐defining midcore mobile games. As the most senior finance leader in the District, you'll partner closely with the Midcore CEO and Group CFO to drive growth, investment, and performance across our current and future studios. You'll combine strategic vision with hands‐on execution, ensuring financial discipline while empowering creativity and smart risk‐taking.
You'll lead the District's finance agenda, guide business decisions through data and insight, and work closely with studio finance teams to ensure alignment and excellence. This is a role for a finance leader who thrives in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments, where partnership, pace, and ambition go hand in hand. You'll lead a small direct team (including a Senior Controller and Senior Accountant) while collaborating across the Group's finance community.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the strategic finance partner to the Midcore CEO, shaping and delivering the District's growth ambitions.
- Own the District's long‐term financial strategy, ensuring that capital allocation, investment prioritization, and business performance management enable sustainable growth and profitability across studios.
- Collaborate with studio CFOs and finance teams to strengthen local performance and ensure alignment with Group standards.
- Establish and oversee a unified financial performance framework across studios, aligning KPIs, forecasting standards, and performance reviews.
- Lead the development of forecasting and investment models that inform strategic decisions and optimise resource deployment at District and studio levels.
- Partner with Group and District leadership on strategic initiatives, including M&A, studio integrations, and new business evaluations, ensuring financial insights drive high‐quality decision‐making on investments and profitability.
- Ensure full compliance with MTG Group financial governance, reporting, and control frameworks, including IFRS, audit readiness, and risk management across all District entities.
- Work closely with Corporate Tax to ensure accurate transfer pricing, internal chargebacks, and tax‐compliant intercompany structures and processes.
- Inspire, coach, and support a high‐performing finance team, fostering a culture of trust, learning, and accountability.
- Act as the key financial representative for the District to Group Finance, auditors, and external stakeholders, translating performance into clear, actionable narratives and ensuring clarity, communication, and alignment.
Candidate Profile
- Based in Sweden, UK, Spain, or Israel, with ability to travel in Europe (10+ years' experience in senior finance roles within global, fast‐paced organisations).
- Proven ability to define and execute long‐term financial strategy, capital allocation, and investment planning in a multi‐entity environment.
- Champion financial excellence and robust governance, ensuring compliance, consistency, and alignment across all studios.
- Strong FP&A and business partnering experience, with a track record of influencing senior leaders.
- Skilled at leading through influence in matrix structures and building trust across diverse teams.
- Commercial mindset, able to turn data into stories and insights into action.
- Able to represent the organisation confidently at executive and external stakeholder levels, translating complex financials into clear strategic narratives.
- Strong technical knowledge in accounting, consolidation, tax, and transfer pricing.
- Excellent communicator with strong cultural intelligence and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse teams and geographies.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in leadership and team development.
- Passion for gaming, tech, or entertainment industries is a strong plus.
