Working within the technical direction set by the Head of Technology & Engineering, you’ll also contribute to service improvements, automation, and the development of junior engineers. This role would suit an experienced network engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving technical problems, and working in a live ISP environment.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience working with ISP networking technologies, including BGP, MPLS, LDP, VRFs, L2VPNs, L3VPNs, PPPoE, OSPF and IPv6
- Extensive hands-on experience configuring and supporting Juniper MX and QFX platforms in a live production environment
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across a core network, with a structured and methodical approach to fault finding
- Experience delivering network change, upgrades and project work safely within a controlled production environment
- Good understanding of network performance, resilience and operational best practice within an ISP or service provider setting
- Experience supporting core network services and related virtualised or Linux-based infrastructure would be beneficial
- Comfortable producing clear technical documentation and detailed change requests
- Able to work independently, take ownership of technical problems, and contribute to wider engineering improvements
- Experience with RADIUS and TACACS would be beneficial
- Able to support junior engineers and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Exposure to automation and open-source tooling would be an advantage
