Who We Are: Established in 1999, Modern Networks are the leading specialist provider of managed IT and Telecoms services to the UK’s commercial and retail property sector. We are also an independent Internet Service Provider (ISP). We work with more than thirty of the UK’s leading Managing Agents to deliver services to over 1800 of the most prestigious buildings and shopping centres across the UK. In addition to our work in the property sector we also work with over 200 SMB organisations in Public Services, Industrial and a variety of other sectors. This is an exciting time to be joining the group having completed a number of acquisitions over recent years with more to come in the next few years.

The Role: If you are a highly organised and detail-oriented billing assistant, recent graduate or college leaver looking for a varied role, this could be the perfect job for you. We are offering a full time (37.5 hours/ week), permanent contract, working in a hybrid setting (Mon-Wed in our Hitchin office, Thursday – Friday from home). The position demands excellent prioritisation and multitasking skills to manage daily financial operations effectively. We seek someone who is always happy to help, willing to go the extra mile, and can work collaboratively.

Main duties will include:

  • Triaging Finance tickets, and allocating to correct department.
  • Create Invoices / Credits from billing platforms.
  • Ensure Invoices/Credits contain correct billing details, correct product information, Purchase Order numbers are quoted where required, products are posting to the correct nominal prior to posting to the ledger.
  • Assisting with basic Billing Queries.
  • Submit invoices to the client either via email or customer portal.
  • Request PO’s from external sources where required.
  • Work with internal departments/individuals relating to customer billing queries.
  • Update billing platforms with new billing details.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience of working in a financial administration role OR a recent finance graduate / college leaver.
  • Solid understanding and experience in Office 365 applications (specifically Excel & Outlook).
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths and English or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines.
