We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring the highest level of customer service. This role requires heavy lifting and materials handling as you will be commuting between properties adhering to any property requirements.

Duties

  • Safely operate a van to transport goods to designated locations.
  • Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling techniques are used to avoid damage.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory and managing stock levels.
  • Assist in picking and packing orders accurately for delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle and loading areas.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
  • Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with materials handling.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems, particularly AS400, is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required.
