Technical Project Manager
About MDM PropsMDM Props delivers bespoke fabrication, themed environments and immersive experiences for clients across entertainment, attractions, events and commercial sectors.We're looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the fabrication and technical delivery of complex projects.Working alongside a Creative Project Manager, you'll be responsible for turning approved concepts into exceptional finished builds.
The Role
You'll lead workshop production, fabrication planning, technical coordination and installation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
You'll work closely with draughting, workshop managers, subcontractors and production teams to coordinate every stage of delivery.
Every project at MDM Props is jointly led by a Technical and Creative Project Manager. While the Creative Project Manager leads the client relationship, creative development and commercial delivery, you'll take ownership of technical planning, fabrication, workshop production and installation. You'll work as an equal partner throughout the project, combining technical expertise with creative ambition to deliver exceptional results.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop fabrication strategies and production plans
- Lead workshop and production teams
- Build and manage production schedules
- Coordinate drawings, CNC files and technical documentation
- Manage procurement, materials and subcontractors
- Monitor project costs and production budgets
- Oversee logistics, installations and site activities
- Ensure quality, safety and programme compliance
- Support project close-out and continuous improvement
About You
You'll ideally have 8+ years' experience working within a set-building, scenic construction or creative fabrication company where design and fabrication are delivered in-house. This means you'll have first-hand experience of taking projects from approved designs through fabrication and installation, and be confident leading workshop teams while balancing quality, programme and practical build considerations.
