Mode Search is supporting a leading luxury retail brand in the appointment of a Visual Merchandising Project Manager. This role sits at the intersection of creative visual execution and project management, supporting the delivery of impactful visual merchandising animations, store environments and commercial initiatives across retail, showroom and event spaces. The position is based in London and reports directly into the Senior Visual Merchandising Manager. The role works closely with regional retail teams, head office functions and external partners to deliver visual merchandising projects and animations across stores, showrooms and events.
The role:
- Support the Senior Visual Merchandising Manager in the planning, coordination and execution of commercial and visual merchandising animations.
- Lead the organisation and delivery of VM projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring consistency with visual guidelines and commercial objectives.
- Conduct regular store visits to roll out new VM guidelines, support product launches and ensure visual standards are maintained.
- Coordinate and oversee maison and scenography planning and implementation across the store network.
- Manage visual merchandising planning and set-up for key events and trade stands, including major industry shows and retail animations.
- Provide ongoing VM support for the press showroom, including display refreshes, re-see appointments and communication events throughout the year.
- Collaborate closely with retail, customer experience, operations, home and interior project teams to ensure aligned execution.
- Support regional management and communications teams with window product selection and visual storytelling.
- Participate in fashion and non-fashion merchandising catch-ups, providing feedback on store displays, product assortment and identifying risks and opportunities.
- Assist stores and regional teams during buying periods, previews and podiums, ensuring VM guidelines and strategy are embedded.
- Provide VM expertise to regional teams during product assortment planning for new store openings.
- Plan and manage visual merchandising projects from concept to delivery, creating timelines, budgets and work schedules.
- Act as the main point of contact for VM projects, coordinating stakeholders and managing external suppliers.
- Monitor budgets, control costs and ensure projects are delivered on time and to standard.
- Manage last-minute changes and tight deadlines while ensuring minimal disruption to store operations.
- Measure the effectiveness of VM initiatives through sales performance, customer engagement and post-project analysis.
- Prepare reports and post-project reviews, providing regular updates and feedback to the Senior VM Manager.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in visual merchandising or VM project management within a luxury, fashion or premium retail environment.
- Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, product presentation and in-store storytelling.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working cross-functionally with retail, operations, communications and creative teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience sourcing and managing external suppliers, including budget responsibility.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to assess sales impact and customer engagement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Willingness to travel for store visits, events and key project milestones.
