Retail IT Manager - Luxury Fashion Brand

Mode Search is supporting a leading retail group in the search for a highly capable Retail IT Manager to oversee technology infrastructure and performance across their store network. This is a pivotal role that will drive operational efficiency and ensure seamless digital experiences for customers and store teams alike.

The position is based in London, within a full-time, on-site retail environment. The Retail IT Manager will report directly to the Head of Retail Operations and collaborate closely with corporate IT and store leadership teams to align systems with evolving business needs.

The Role

• Lead the deployment, upkeep, and performance optimisation of all in-store IT systems, including POS, networks, mobile devices, and security infrastructure
• Manage and support a team of IT professionals across multiple store locations, providing leadership, coaching, and development
• Serve as the key point of contact between retail operations, central IT, and external technology vendors
• Oversee major IT projects such as store openings, system upgrades, hardware rollouts, and the implementation of new tools
• Ensure high system uptime and operational reliability through proactive monitoring and issue resolution
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licenses, and equipment life cycles across the store network
• Use performance data and feedback to identify and implement system and process improvements
• Enforce compliance with data protection laws, cybersecurity protocols, and business continuity standards
• Set, monitor, and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and lead the resolution of technical incidents and store-based IT issues

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT, including at least 2 years in a retail-focused IT leadership role
• Demonstrable expertise in POS systems, store-level IT infrastructure, and cloud-based retail technologies
• Proven ability to lead and develop both remote and on-site technical support teams
• Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering IT initiatives in a retail setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working across departments and with external partners
• Sound knowledge of IT security, data compliance, and risk mitigation strategies relevant to the retail environment
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; relevant certifications such as ITIL or PMP are a strong advantage
