Mode Search is supporting a fast-growing performance footwear brand in the search for a Head of Social & Marketing. The business is at a pivotal stage of growth, with a proven product, a clear brand story, and strong early traction. They are now looking for a commercially minded and culturally connected leader to scale their brand presence from a passionate community into a broader movement.
This is a full-time hybrid role working 3 days a week in a London-based office and 2 from home. The position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and works in close collaboration with internal creative and performance functions, as well as external partners and collaborators.
The Role- Own and drive execution and growth across all social and marketing channels, from strategy through to hands-on delivery.
- Lead all first- and third-party social platforms, including content execution, community building, and distribution.
- Develop channel-first campaigns designed to increase reach, engagement, and audience quality rather than vanity metrics.
- Build, manage, and grow relationships across a third-party ecosystem, including athletes, creators, influencers, media, and reviewers.
- Collaborate closely with performance marketing teams to ensure alignment between creative output and paid media strategy.
- Oversee product seeding, placements, and event activations, translating physical brand moments into digital engagement and earned media.
- Establish and scale long-term partnerships with talent and collaborators, moving beyond one-off activations.
- Work alongside creative leadership to translate brand direction into scalable, platform-native execution.
- Ensure all outward-facing content remains culturally relevant, consistent, and aligned with brand identity.
- Take a hands-on approach to content creation, briefing, and execution while also leading and coordinating a wider network of contributors.
- Deep personal connection to running and its culture, with the ability to authentically engage with the community.
- Strong track record of driving brand growth across social and digital channels.
- Proven experience building and managing impactful third-party programmes across creators, athletes, influencers, and press.
- Strong understanding of platform-specific content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
- A balance of strategic thinking and executional capability, with a willingness to be hands-on.
- Awareness of broader cultural trends across sport, fashion, and lifestyle, and how they intersect with performance categories.
- Experience delivering successful seeding strategies, product placements, and live or experiential activations.
- Ability to integrate organic content strategies with paid performance marketing efforts.
- Highly proactive, ambitious, and motivated to build and scale a brand rather than maintain the status quo.
