Mode Search is delighted to be partnering with a well-established London-based fashion supplier in the search for an experienced Jersey Designer to join their dynamic and creative team. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, trend-focused collections to the high street and global wholesale clients, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, office-based role located in London. Reporting directly to the Design Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the Sales, Fabric Sourcing, and Print Design teams to deliver commercially relevant jersey collections tailored to a wide variety of customer profiles.
The Role
- Research current fashion and streetwear trends to create forward-thinking, commercially viable jersey designs.
- Design across a broad range of jersey categories including T-shirts, tops, dresses, co-ords, loungewear, and casualwear.
- Produce detailed technical CADs and comprehensive tech packs using Adobe Illustrator.
- Develop seasonal colour palettes, trims, and fabric direction in line with customer expectations.
- Work with the fabric team to select appropriate jersey qualities and finishes for various market needs.
- Collaborate with the in-house print team to create unique graphics, placement prints, and all-over designs.
- Respond to customer briefs and adapt styles based on client feedback and buying needs.
- Support the Sales team with range development and presentations for client meetings.
- Oversee the sample development process, ensuring fit, fabric, and finish align with both brand and client requirements.
- Stay up to date with competitor activity and emerging jerseywear trends to inform seasonal direction and collection planning.
The Candidate
- A minimum of 4β5 yearsβ experience in a jersey design role, ideally within a supplier or fast fashion environment.
- Highly trend-aware, with a strong understanding of high street and commercial fashion markets.
- Confident using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for design development; strong Excel skills are also desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and an eye for silhouette, colour, and print.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across departments and at all levels.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to take initiative in a constantly evolving market landscape.
