Mode Search are partnering with a globally recognised contemporary fashion brand in their search for an Inventory & Stock Manager to join their growing London team.
This is a newly created and business-critical position, responsible for establishing inventory governance, controls, and processes across a complex international operation.
Covering retail, wholesale, e-commerce, warehousing and head office stock, this role will become the central point of accountability for inventory accuracy and stock integrity across the business.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the inventory function from the ground up, creating structure, implementing best practice processes, and driving accountability across multiple stakeholders and locations.
The Role
- Take ownership of inventory governance across the entire business
- Develop and implement inventory processes, controls, and reporting structures
- Manage stock accuracy across multiple international inventory locations
- Oversee cycle counts, stock audits, and annual stock takes
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, stock adjustments, and root-cause analysis
- Drive inventory accountability across retail, warehouse, logistics, customer service, finance, and operational teams
- Produce inventory reporting, stock analysis, and actionable recommendations
- Partner closely with warehouse providers and retail teams to ensure inventory accuracy and process compliance
- Support inventory planning and operational decision-making through accurate reporting and data analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve stock visibility, controls, and operational efficiencies
- Act as the key point of contact for inventory-related projects and process improvements
- Support the future growth and development of the inventory function
- Operational Scope
- Responsibility for inventory across multiple international stock pools
- Oversight of Head Office inventory
- Support retail operations across multiple store locations
- Management of inventory relationships across several third-party warehouse partners
- Collaboration with logistics, finance, customer service, and retail teams
- Current Structure
- Supported by a part-time Stock Controller focused on retail operations
- Initially an individual contributor role with long-term potential to build and develop a wider team
Requirements
- Strong inventory management experience within retail, wholesale, e-commerce, supply chain, or operational environments
- Experience managing stock across multiple locations, channels, and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Process-driven mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Comfortable operating autonomously and building structure within a growing business
- Fashion experience preferred but not essential
