Mode Search is supporting an established British luxury business with the appointment of a Design Manager/ Head of Design to take creative ownership of its main line collections.

This newly created position offers the opportunity to play a significant role in the evolution of the brand, combining an exceptional heritage in craftsmanship with ambitious plans for continued international growth.

This is a UK-based position with sponsorship available for the right individual.

Reporting directly to the Creative Director, the Design Manager/ Head of Design will lead the design function and work closely with Production and wider product teams, with strong long-term progression into senior creative leadership.

The role

  • Take creative ownership of the main line collections, establishing a clear and cohesive vision across ready-to-wear, tailoring and knitwear
  • Lead and oversee a multidisciplinary team of designers, providing creative direction across seasonal collections and additional product categories.
  • Shape the overall collection aesthetic, ensuring consistency across silhouette, proportion, fabrication, colour and detail while balancing heritage with a contemporary luxury perspective.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director, Head of Production and wider product teams to translate creative concepts into beautifully executed, commercially relevant collections.
  • Play a key role in the continued evolution and international growth of the brand, drawing on its extensive archive, exceptional materials, manufacturing capabilities and specialist craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • An accomplished luxury fashion designer or design leader with a sophisticated creative eye and the ability to oversee complete collections across multiple product categories.
  • Strong experience within luxury or high-end ready-to-wear; specific with creative vision and collection-building ability the priority.
  • A refined aesthetic aligned with understated, timeless luxury, with exceptional consideration of materials, colour, proportion and detail.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring design teams, combined with a strong understanding of luxury product development, construction and craftsmanship.
  • Must be based in the UK or prepared to relocate to the UK, with sponsorship available for the right candidate.
  • Open to mens or womens experience
