Mode Executive is supporting a leading contemporary luxury brand in the search for a Collection Merchandising Director to join the business at an exciting stage of international growth and transformation. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced merchandising professional who can partner closely with creative and commercial teams to shape product strategy, elevate the customer proposition and support ambitious expansion plans across global markets.

The role is based at the company headquarters in London, operating on a four-day office schedule with Fridays working remotely. The position reports directly to the CEO and works in close partnership with the Founder & Creative Director, alongside the Head of Production and the Merchandising Director responsible for DTC and Ecommerce.

The Role

  • Lead the collection merchandising strategy across categories, ensuring alignment between creative vision, customer demand and commercial objectives.
  • Partner closely with the Founder & Creative Director to influence product architecture, assortment planning and seasonal direction.
  • Drive end-to-end collection planning, balancing innovation, brand elevation and profitability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, DTC, Ecommerce and Wholesale teams to optimise product performance across all channels.
  • Support international growth initiatives, with particular focus on APAC, a strategically important region currently representing approximately 40% of company sales.
  • Contribute to expansion plans across new retail markets including China, Europe and North America.
  • Provide merchandising insight to support store openings, channel development and marketplace growth initiatives.
  • Build product strategies that reinforce a premium positioning as the business continues to elevate the customer experience and pricing architecture.
  • Analyse market performance, customer behaviour and category opportunities to inform future collection decisions.
  • Support key launches, collaborations and special projects across the business.
  • Act as a strategic partner within a fast-scaling environment, combining high-level thinking with a hands-on approach.
  • Play a key role in supporting the company's next phase of international visibility, including increased investment in global showrooms and runway presence.

Requirements

  • Significant experience within collection merchandising gained in luxury or premium fashion environments.
  • Strong understanding of product strategy, assortment architecture and collection lifecycle management.
  • Experience operating across international markets, with exposure to APAC considered highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work closely with Creative, Product and Commercial leadership teams.
  • Strong luxury sensibility with an appreciation for craftsmanship, elevated customer experience and premium positioning.
  • Experience supporting business growth within scaling or entrepreneurial environments.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance creativity with performance objectives.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on and agile approach to execution.
  • High standards, strong attention to detail and the ability to influence at senior level.
  • Comfortable operating within an open, entrepreneurial and collaborative culture.
