Mode Executive is supporting a luxury accessories business in the appointment of a Sales Director to lead the Handbags category across the EMEA region. Based in London, this role operates from the company’s Soho office and reports directly to the Global VP of Sales located in the US. The Director will oversee the regional wholesale strategy, drive commercial growth, and act as a key liaison between EMEA markets and the global head office.
The Role
- Lead seasonal sales planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and achieving revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key buyers, introducing new strategic partners each season.
- Drive market appointments in London and Paris, ensuring clients’ OTB commitments are met.
- Focus on new business development during the first year, identifying opportunities to expand distribution and channel growth.
- Maintain strong awareness of the competitive landscape and communicate market insights internally.
- Negotiate and support commercial activations such as pop-ups, trainings, incentives, visual merchandising initiatives, and marketing collaborations.
- Conduct weekly business analysis and share performance updates for major accounts.
- Collaborate with product and merchandising teams to ensure seasonal assortment needs for EMEA are met.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and logistics to ensure a smooth end-to-end sales process.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of wholesale experience, including team management.
- Strong network and deep knowledge of the handbag and accessories market across Europe.
- Sales-driven mindset with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a hands-on environment.
- Previous experience managing a womenswear or accessories sales team.
- Team player with the adaptability to thrive in a small, lean structure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
