Following an internal promotion, we are seeking a Portfolio Accountant for Modaxo Europe. You will be a key member of the Modaxo Europe and ASIA Portfolio Team, working closely with the Portfolio Reporting Controller and Portfolio CFO Europe & ASIA. You will report to the Portfolio Reporting Controller and manage a Trainee Portfolio Accountant.
The team is responsible for ensuring all Financial Reporting required by the Group (Constellation Software Inc. - listed on the Toronto stock exchange) is provided accurately and timely. Modaxo Europe consists of over 20 Business Units across Europe, AMEA, and the Americas.
This is a hybrid role (expectation is to be in the office at least one day per week), based in Chippenham, UK. We offer career progression within Modaxo, with expectations for promotion to a more senior role within 2-3 years.
In the role, you will:
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and consolidation processes with a focus on accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure new accounting policies are followed and rolled out in all companies in the portfolio.
- Assist companies in the Portfolio with accounting and reporting-related questions.
- Participate in Due diligence and Integration of newly acquired companies.
- Take the lead on intercompany reconciliations, management fees, and royalties.
- Oversee and coordinate Internal Audits from the Parent company.
- Coordinate Portfolio internal 'Peer Review' program.
- Safeguard the risk and control environment in the portfolio.
- Ensure all companies make proper reconciliations and upload them into our reconciliation tool, Blackline.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the parent company in a timely manner.
- Conduct ad-hoc analytics and reviews of business performance as required.
About you:
- You are a certified/chartered accountant with at least 3 years' experience.
- Very strong accounting skills, particularly on IFRS, including revenue recognition.
- Enjoy technical accounting and ensuring correct accounting treatment is applied.
- Preferably have experience with Risk management and Audits.
- Thrive in meeting demanding reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Excel skills and keen to learn new systems (particularly Netsuite).
- Fluent in English; additional language skills in German or other European languages are an advantage.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
