Join us at a pivotal moment in our journey. As our company continues to grow and evolve, we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing and Finance Assistant to play a key role in supporting our expanding operations. This is a unique opportunity to work across two vital functions of the business, gaining broad exposure and making a real impact from day one.

In this split role, you will spend approximately 60% of your time supporting our Procurement team—helping to ensure smooth purchasing processes, strong supplier relationships, and efficient stock and cost management. The remaining 40% of your time will be dedicated to assisting the Finance team, contributing to accurate financial records, reporting, and day-to-day financial operations. As we continue to grow, this balance may evolve, offering you the chance to develop new skills and adapt alongside the business.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy variety in your work, and are eager to be part of an exciting growth story, we’d love to hear from you.

This role is an office based role. We do however offer the flexibility to work from home on Fridays once the successful candidate’s knowledge base has grown sufficiently. There may be an occasional need to work from the office on Fridays if required by the business. Occasional travel to other locations may be required.

  • Placing purchase orders, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitoring stock levels and forecasting demand.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing data, updating ERP/MRP systems, and processing invoices.

  • Identifying potential supply chain disruptions and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Communicating with suppliers regarding order status, quality issues, or shortages.
  • Be proactive in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Providing administrative support to the purchasing team to maintain efficient operational flow.
  • Cover and support roles performed by other members of the finance team during busy periods/annual leave.
  • Take on company-wide finance tasks as allocated from time to time.
  • Assist in monthly and year end management/financial accounts.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis in support of the preparation of management accounts.
  • Assist and support the quarterly forecast process.
  • Develop and improve finance and project systems.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in a similar purchasing role is essential.
  • Experience of negotiating, securing favourable terms, prices, and delivery schedules while maintaining positive supplier relationships is essential.
  • Finance experience including assistance and support towards monthly and year end accounts, and ad-hoc financial analysis would be advantageous.
  • Experience with a purchase management system as well as Excel, Word and Outlook (or similar email system) is essential.
  • Experience with Xero and NetSuite is desirable.

  • Pension scheme
