Job Summary
The Group Leader at Modaxo is a key member of the Regional Leadership Team and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
You will work in a key strategic role in a Group structure - giving you access to leaders and best practices across the world, enhancing your existing knowledge & supporting your learning & development.
The Group currently consists of 3-8 businesses, comprising 3-10 direct reports (GMs + functions).
You will be responsible for the Group’s P&L and operations, ensuring that each of our businesses are able to embrace best practices to meet growth and profitability targets.
You will be responsible for working with the GMs/CEOs to help develop and implement the Group strategy focused on market trends, product offerings and ability to meet the needs of clients.
Lastly, you will oversee the integration of acquisitions and ensure Modaxo global strategic objectives are driven through the Group.

- Develop the Group strategy and oversee its implementation
- Drive high performance and organic growth to ensure the Business Unit objectives are met for their Group
- Oversee the integration of acquisitions within their Group
- Ensure Modaxo global strategic objectives are driven through their Group
- Ensure business risk management is undertaken across their Group
- Drive initiatives across their Group
- Set and drive the culture across the Group, ensuring alignment to the broader Global Transit Portfolio.
- This role requires approximately 50% international travel and may be located in Europe
- Accountabilities
- Develop & execute a strategic plan that enables achievement of key strategic objectives for the Group;
- Meet agreed growth and profitability targets;
- Participate in M&A activities as required by the Portfolio Manager/Leader, COO or Acquiring Manager.
- Oversee the integration of allocated acquisitions within the Group, ensuring achievement of the integration plan objectives
- People management of direct reports including the attraction, retention, development & building of capability and engagement
- Ensure adequate talent pipelining, succession planning and talent management to support the Group growth objectives, including overseeing talent attraction and retention, building capability and engagement within each of the Group’s businesses
- Ensure structure and resourcing levels will enable Group objectives to be met
- Business risk management, including ensuring: Compliance and regulatory requirements are met across the Group; Risk management strategies are in place to ensure growth and profitability; and
- Compliance with all Modaxo policies.
- Manage delivery of agreed objectives for the Group’s companies, including ensuring: all investments are driving an IRR with significant %, and Organic Growth and EBITA targets are met.
- Actively engage with Business units' Managers to ensure sales strategy is aligned to organic growth objectives and sales channels are focused on generating the expected results
- Strategic internal and external key stakeholder management
- Escalation point for key customers issues;
- Drive quarterly review process of business performance ensuring businesses take timely action to address any issues identified

- Deliver to the investment memo and agreed objectives of any allocated acquisitions;
- Operate within approved budgets and delegation of authorities;
- Make recommendations for approvals outside approved delegation of authority levels;
- Deal pricing structure within approved delegation of authorities (deal approval matrix);
- Recommend appointment and terminations of direct reports to the Portfolio Manager for approval;
- Manage Group in terms of structure, resourcing, talent management, roles, performance and terminations;
- Escalation of issues as required.
