Ready to make an impact in Primary Care? We are seeking a motivated and skilled Paramedic Practitioners to join the East Surrey Division of Modality Partnership working at Birchwood Medical Practice and Townhill Medical Practice. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of primary care, providing advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting with urgent and same-day healthcare needs.

Main duties of the job

This is a hands-on, patient-facing advanced clinical role where you will assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate patients presenting with a wide range of conditions within your competence, including minor illness, minor injury, abdominal pain, chest pain, and headaches. You will manage patients with urgent and complex healthcare needs, supporting same-day access and patient flow across Primary Care services. Working collaboratively with GPs, nursing teams, pharmacists, and wider healthcare professionals, you will contribute to innovative ways of working, service improvement, quality initiatives, and new models of care.

The role also offers opportunities to support education, mentorship, and clinical supervision where appropriate. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work resourcefully as part of a wider clinical team. Strong clinical judgement, excellent communication, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining professional boundaries are essential; you will have opportunities to further develop advanced clinical and leadership skills within a progressive organisation.

Pre-employment requirements

  • Vaccinations: Evidence of Hepatitis B (x3), titre level and/or booster, and MMR and Varicella status required. Support is available for those who are undecided.

  • Employment history: Any employment gaps of 6 weeks or more must be declared.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Relevant experience working as a Paramedic Practitioner in a healthcare setting.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and examination skills.
  • Experience managing patients with complex needs.
  • Experience within General Practice or Primary Care.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Registered Paramedic.
  • Recognised degree qualification in autonomous practice.
  • Mentor or teaching qualification.
