We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team and work across Ship Street Surgery and Judges Close Surgery on a part-time basis (minimum 25 hours per week). This is far more than a traditional support role – you will be a vital member of the nursing and practice team, contributing directly to the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care while supporting service efficiency and quality improvement.

This is a hands‑on, patient‑facing clinical support role working closely with the nursing and wider multidisciplinary team to promote health, prevent illness, and support the ongoing management of patients across the practice.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of clinical tasks including patient health checks, observations, phlebotomy, urine testing, and ECG recording where trained.
  • Assist with vaccination programmes, wound care, suture and staple removal where appropriate, and provide patients with health promotion advice to support self‑care and wellbeing.
  • Support consistent ways of working and improve patient satisfaction; gain a wide portfolio of Primary Care clinical skills and career development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, respond to patient queries, and work collaboratively across the practice to ensure smooth, safe, and effective care delivery.
Qualifications & Key Skills
