Primary Care Health Assistant — Patient Care & Growth in Birmingham

This is a hands-on, patient-facing clinical support role working closely with the nursing and wider multidisciplinary team to promote health, prevent illness, and support the ongoing management of patients across the practice. You will carry out a range of clinical tasks including patient health checks, observations, phlebotomy, urine testing, and ECG recording where trained, supporting both routine and long-term condition monitoring. The role also involves assisting with vaccination programmes, wound care, suture and staple removal where appropriate, and providing patients with health promotion advice to support self-care and wellbeing.

• Essential Knowledge:
• Experience working within Primary or Secondary Care.
• Experience of data input, information gathering, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Recent experience delivering direct patient care.
• Phlebotomy skills.
• Blood pressure monitoring.
• Urine testing.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Desirable Knowledge:

• EMIS or System1 experience.
