To deliver a balanced commercial range which reflects affordable luxury brand and deliver a continuous profit growth. Responsible for sourcing/developing and negotiating a cohesive range to meet the brands set margin requirements and sell through retail and wholesale.

Each individual product should be procured and developed while reviewing existing stock to ensure products remain competitive within the market place. To maximise commercial opportunities and minimise areas of risk by regularly reviewing performance and trends and reacting accordingly.

Accountabilities:

  • To deliver a range of shoes that meet individual and specific requirements within the strategy set by the buying manager that sit in line with the vision of the brand, whilst ensuring deadlines for each are achieved.
  • Working closely with design team, developing individual shoes with creative flare and individuality whilst creating brand clarity; ensuring product price and quality sit within the brands requirements. All products to have a clear and ‘consistent’ handwriting to ensure the collection can be presented clearly to Senior Management.
  • Manage existing and create new supplier relationships to support overall proposition and content delivered across all categories, maintaining full understanding and undertaking of the brand bible.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to maximise profit with the ability to influence suppliers to gain win win results.
  • Ability to trade the department, ensuring all commercial criteria’s are followed – using daily reporting system to facilitate decisions.
  • Understanding and Management of WSSI and OTB across the range.
  • Strong handle of specific product range plans set by Head of Buying and Product – collaborating with designers and JB’s to ensure this is delivered.
  • Conduct range reviews in collaboration with merchandiser and Head of Buying to then present to CEO and senior management.
  • Act as a mentor for the Junior Buyer and her specified area within the footwear department.
  • Manage design and buying team on a day to day basis.
  • Liaise with the QC to ensure all actions relating to product development/confirmation and production are kept in line with critical path dates and requirements.
  • To develop a team to be high performers and achieve best results whilst creating a sense of teamwork across the department.
