We are seeking an experienced and driven Cinema & Venue Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Mockingbird Cinema. This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing the cinema, two bars, and our event space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality or events, excellent organisational and team management skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the cinema, bars, and venue space
- Lead and coordinate staff across box office, floor, and bar, including rota planning and training
- Ingest, test, and schedule all film content (DCPs, Blu-rays, digital files)
- Oversee private hire bookings and ensure smooth delivery of events
- Ensure high standards of customer service, hygiene, licensing, and safety
- Handle supplier ordering, stock control, and general bar management
- Liaise with external programmers, promoters, and clients
- Support with in-house marketing (poster displays, digital updates)
- Collect supplies locally using own or company vehicle
- Compile basic financial and performance reports
Essential Requirements:
- Proven management experience in cinema, hospitality, events, or similar sectors
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn film projection or prior experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
