UX Designer/Researcher

Founded in 2003, Mobysoft provides data-based insight solutions to a wide range of social housing clients, supplying technology to help landlords to improve their income-collection processes for the good of all involved. Mobysoft delivers two market-leading products, which help keep tenants housed in a home they can enjoy and simultaneously improves rent collection for the long term good of the organisation.

What are we looking for?
We are undertaking an exciting phase of the development and commercial journey at Mobysoft that requires an enthusiastic, curious and experienced UX researcher and designer. Sitting within the Product Management function key stakeholders within the business will include colleagues in Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success and Professional Services you will be a key driver of design decisions and outcomes in core applications and green field projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead user research activities to understand the needs and behaviours of users interacting with data driven applications.
- Actively take and find requirements from customers and stake holders, translating them into actionable design tasks.
- Define user flows, create journey maps, develop personas, and articulate requirements and user stories to inform the design process.
- Design intuitive and efficient interfaces, starting from wireframes and moving to detailed prototypes and high(er) fidelity designs.
- Utilise design tools, particularly Figma, for prototyping, iterating on designs, and gathering feedback.
- Plan and conduct usability testing to road rest, validate design solutions and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with product managers to refine requirements and translate them into user centred design solutions.
- Work hand in hand with front end developers, providing clear design specifications, assets, and guidance to ensure accurate implementation of the user experience.
- Contribute to the evolution and application of our design system, ensuring consistency across the product.
- Actively take and find requirements from customers and stake holders, translating them into actionable design tasks.
Qualifications and skills
Required
- Degree or relevant UX design experience, and or further UX related qualifications
- A portfolio which demonstrates a user centred design process and outcomes.
- Proven experience as a UX Designer, ideally with a focus on complex applications, data visualisation, dashboards, or enterprise software.
- Practical experience with modern UX design tools such as Figma or Sketch.
- Practical experience of prototyping, iterating, and validating designs
- Proven experience with various UX research methods such as usability testing, persona development, and user journey mapping.
Desirable
- Comfort and Ease of / with:
- Working effectively with product management to define and manage design requirements.
- Finding and taking requirements from customers and stake holders, effectively communicating user needs to the wider team.
- Understanding of user centred design principles, usability heuristics, and comprehensive knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG).
