An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Turning Points Substance Use and Mental Health Team which delivers treatment across the whole of Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Assistant Psychologist interested in working with young people and young adults with co-existing substance use and mental health difficulties.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the assessment and delivery of interventions to young people and young adults with co-existing substance use and mental health needs under the supervision of the Practitioner Psychologist.
- Assist in clinically related administration, deliver psychological interventions, administer questionnaires or standardised psychometric tests, conduct audits, collect data and statistics, and contribute to research projects and training.
Ideal Candidate
- At least a 2:1 degree in psychology and eligibility for graduate membership with the British Psychological Society.
- Understanding of the needs and difficulties of young people and young adults with mental health and substance use difficulties.
- Experience of delivering psychosocial interventions (individually or in groups) and understanding of research and service evaluation processes.
- Focus on providing support to under 18s and young adults across City, County, and Rutland locations, working closely with partnership agencies to develop referral pathways/partnership links.
- A driving licence and car access is desirable but flexibility in travel across the county is essential.
