We are looking for a Senior Producer to work on Global's flagship sports podcast, presented by Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman. The role involves producing a high‑profile national daily sports programme, fixing high‑profile interviews, arranging access to locations and events, and setting up special programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Booking & Outside Broadcasts (20%): Fix contributors and high‑profile interviewees, and set up outside broadcasts.
- Editorial Ideas & Story Development (20%): Bring innovative and ambitious ideas for stories, guests, features and episodes.
- On-the-Road Production Support (10%): Take the podcast on the road for big events or when stories break; last‑minute travel may be required.
- Reactive Content Delivery (15%): Spring into action at short notice and think on your feet to generate content quickly.
- Short‑Form & Social Content Creation (10%): Generate additional short‑form or social‑media content that drives audience to the podcast.
- Cross‑Team Production Coordination (15%): Work with internal collaborators and the podcast project management team to ensure effective production, promotion and marketing.
- Audio Editing & Deadline Delivery (10%): Edit audio in Adobe Audition under tight deadlines.
- Cross‑Show Working: Up To Speed (10%): Work across Up To Speed, Global's Formula 1 podcast when required.
This includes:
- Bring a strong knowledge and passion for Formula 1 and its culture.
- Support the creation of engaging content for audience discovery and loyalty.
- Contribute to a smooth, efficient content workflow for both shows.

- Established as a key member of the team, regularly pitching ideas for stories, guests and treatments.

What You'll Need
- A couple of years' experience producing a daily sports programme with knowledge of UK and international sports news.
- A track record in planning or as a guest booker.
- In‑depth knowledge of sports news and broader cultural references, including Formula One.
- High creativity and imagination in audio content creation; proficiency with Adobe Audition.
- Experience producing outside broadcasts or in‑the‑field work.
- Sound editorial judgment and knowledge of media law.
- Excellent contacts book providing diverse guest and story ideas.
- Outstanding organisational skills and ability to deliver high‑quality output to deadline.
- Experience working with high‑profile talent.
- Great team player.
- Experience in a breaking news environment with fast turnarounds and tight deadlines.
