This position provides strategic leadership for Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) partnerships with travel operators across the region and the relevant UK and local government bodies to optimise the visitor and team member experience in accessing the resort complex and to facilitate smooth transit to the resort irrespective of the guest's chosen mode of transport. Partners with other teams within UDX in the delivery of this mission, including but not limited to: New Ventures Operations, External Affairs, Finance, Legal & Business Affairs, and Sourcing & Procurement. The role serves as the principal point of contact with rail operators, bus companies, airlines and airports, car fleet managers and ride share operators. Manages the agreement lifecycle by developing, articulating, negotiating, and concluding agreements with such partners as are necessary to effect frictionless arrival and departure for all of the guests and team members arriving at the resort and map out this comprehensive plan in support of planning consent compliance.

Major Responsibilities

  • Identify and utilise existing relationships to develop and execute commercial partnerships with transport operators in the UK with a view to maximising the frictionless delivery of target guest numbers and team members to the Universal resort.
  • Collaborate with External Affairs, Real Estate Development, Operations, Legal and Finance to secure commercially-advantageous arrangements at designated transport nodes where they intersect with mainline railway stations, airports and the Strategic Roads Network.
  • Partner and align with UDX colleagues internationally to learn and import best practice in the structuring and delivery of seamless guest and team member arrival experience.
  • Work with resort master‑planning and site control to secure access at nearby transport hubs.
  • Work with Procurement, Operations and Security on developing partnerships with bus operators for mass transit between the transport hubs.
  • Effectively partner to make arrangements for connectivity with Bedford town centre.
  • Coordinate in development of construction traffic management plan and other initiatives during construction for delivery of the workforce to the site - including liaison with rail and bus operators and construction logistics provider.
  • Attendance at operational working groups during construction phase for local roads, slips and rail services.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • University degree or technical qualification in transport planning or a related discipline is desirable but not required.
  • Progressive experience in management of travel and transport partnerships with public and private stakeholders; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Evidence of successfully navigating and developing multi‑modal transport solutions as part of large‑scale infrastructure projects.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders, vendors, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ability to utilise and navigate current professional networks among operational transport providers - including bus, rail and aviation operators.
  • Ability to operate at pace in a complex multi‑stakeholder environment with high levels of emotional intelligence, resilience and creativity.
