Mission
The UAS Flying Instructor trains and mentors UAS pilots in TEKEVER’s uncrewed aerial systems operations. The role involves delivering theoretical ground and practical flying instruction, ensuring flight safety, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Instructors assess student performance, develop training materials, and stay current with evolving UAS technologies within TEKEVER to support professional development and mission readiness across the company and to external customers.
Responsibilities
- Implement comprehensive training programs covering fixed wing systems in basic operational procedures, safe practices to advanced operation procedures.
- Develop and refine technical training materials, including manuals, lesson plans, and assessments in accordance with DSAT methodologies.
- Deliver theoretical and practical hands‑on flying training for new and experienced operators.
- Ensure training content remains up to date with the latest UAS technology advancements and regulatory changes.
- Ensure all training meets Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and Ministry of Defence (MOD) regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation in accordance with industry standards.
- Work with regulatory bodies during audits and compliance assessments.
Profile and Requirements
- Proven experience as a UAS Flying Instructor or equivalent role in operations, or military crewed aviation.
- Strong understanding of aviation planning, operational protocols, flight safety, and radio communications.
- Experience in developing and delivering structured training programs.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations, including CAA, EASA, and MOD standards.
- Strong instructional, written and communication skills.
- Certified UAS flying instructional qualification from a recognised aviation authority or training organization.
- Experience in military UAS operations or equivalent civilian UAS operations.
- Background in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) UAS operations.
