We are delighted to be working in partnership with one of the UK's leading retail businesses, home to well-known high-street brands and employing over 6,000 people, across a growing estate of over 275 locations. They have a lean, high-trust technology team internally, supporting a modern infrastructure (Microsoft 365, Intune, Meraki, Arctic Wolf SOC, Abnormal Security) and are now looking to onboard an Infrastructure and Security Engineer.

In this unique and broad role, you will play a part in a team responsible for infrastructure and endpoints, security operations, identity and email security and automation & patch management. The role involves a degree of mentorship of first-line engineers and engagement with security specialists to evaluate and introduce new platforms.

As well as more complex areas of Infrastructure, key areas of responsibility in your first 12 months will include:

  • Security Posture: Mature the CIS Framework alignment and be a key technical driver in the cyber security roadmap
  • SOC Relationship: Design playbooks and tune detection with Arctic Wolf's Concierge Team
  • Compliance: PCI-DSS audit cycle running smoothly; IR and DR plans tested and current

The ideal candidate will have strong experience of Infrastructure and Network connectivity, along with experience in a Microsoft environment including 365, Entra ID and SharePoint. They will understand IT compliance audit processes such as PCI-DSS, as well as some hands-on cyber security experience.

The role will offer plenty of autonomy and ownership over the cyber security roadmap and so would appeal to a candidate in a combined role, who wishes to expand their cyber security knowledge and progress their career in this area.

If you're at a point in your career where you want to move beyond being one voice in a large team and shape the security posture of a whole organisation, please apply and we would love to hear from you!
