About the Role

We are looking for an Apprentice to join our IT team and kick‑start an exciting career in a fast‑paced, dynamic financial services environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across core IT operations, infrastructure engineering, and secure data handling processes. You will work closely with experienced professionals, playing a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day running of business‑critical systems while developing valuable technical and professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial batch processing and monitoring scheduled jobs.
  • Support secure file transfers between internal systems and external partners.
  • Participate in infrastructure administration, including user account management, hardware setup, and software deployment.
  • Help maintain and monitor backup systems to ensure data integrity and recovery readiness.
  • Contribute to the implementation and documentation of process controls and IT procedures.
  • Respond to basic IT support requests and elevate issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and changes in systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT services meet business needs.

About You

  • A keen interest in IT and technology, ideally with some exposure to networking, systems, or programming.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and Computer Science.
  • An interest and/or exposure to Linux Operating Systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of data security and confidentiality principles (desirable).
