What you’ll do:
- Architect & deliver robust, scalable back‑end services using Java 21+ and Spring Boot (micro‑services, APIs, event‑driven pipelines).
- Enable clients to run mission‑critical workloads on AWS/Azure with high availability.
- Lead & inspire a multidisciplinary engineering team (3‑7 members).
- Mentor junior engineers, run regular code‑reviews, pair‑programming sessions and technical workshops.
- Raise the overall technical bar and foster a culture of knowledge‑sharing.
- Drive best practices around CI/CD, automated testing, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and observability.
- Reduce time‑to‑market and improve reliability for customers.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, data, security and operations teams to translate business goals into technical road‑maps.
- Deliver end‑to‑end solutions that meet client expectations and compliance standards.
- Champion professional growth, organise internal training, sponsor external certifications (AWS, Azure) and support conference attendance.
- Keep the team at the cutting edge of cloud technology.
What we’re looking for:
- Technical expertise – 5+ years of Java development, deep experience with SpringBoot, SpringData, SpringSecurity and RESTful APIs.
- Leadership & mentorship – Proven track record of leading engineers, conducting technical interviews and fostering a supportive team environment.
- Communication – Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders and inspire confidence in clients.
- Agile mindset – Comfortable working in Scrum/Kanban, iterating quickly and embracing continuous improvement.
A plus:
- Cloud fluency – Hands‑on experience deploying Java services on AWS or Azure; familiarity with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
- Containerisation – Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
