We are seeking an experienced NDT Level 2 Technician to join our established aerospace manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring components meet stringent aerospace quality standards through non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, primarily dye penetrant inspection (FPI). Please note: Only candidates with previous aerospace or aviation industry experience should apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dye penetrant inspections (FPI) on aerospace components in accordance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and relevant standards.
- Conduct daily inspection equipment checks and calibrations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Interpret customer orders, engineering drawings, and process specifications.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation for traceability and compliance.
- Identify and report non-conformances, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure the NDT facility meets NADCAP and customer requirements.
- Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals safely, following health and safety regulations.
- Manage consumables and testing material stock levels.
- Verify components meet quality standards before and after testing.
- Maintain a “right first time” approach to minimize rework and maximize efficiency.
- Stay current with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP) and participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven NDT experience within aerospace or aviation manufacturing.
- Experience in a NADCAP-approved NDT facility.
- Competence with precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of dye penetrant inspection processes and best practices.
- EN4179 Level 2 (or equivalent, e.g., PCN Level 2) in Liquid Penetrant Inspection with valid, current approval.
- Computer literate for documentation and record-keeping.
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
