The Training Project Manager plays a key role in delivering projects that support MBNL's transformation into an Infrastructure Management Company. Sitting within the People, Programmes & Change directorate, this role is part of the Portfolio Management Group (PMG) Centre of Excellence, working closely with business teams to plan and schedule training services across MBNL's infrastructure estate.
Why this role matters: MBNL's ability to manage, maintain, and enhance the UK's best mobile network depends on disciplined, customer‐centric project delivery. This role ensures that training initiatives are planned, governed, and delivered consistently supporting strategic change while protecting delivery outcomes. This is a hybrid role, based in Reading, with 2–3 days per week in the office.
What you'll be here to do: You'll manage, plan and schedule training projects within MBNL's portfolio, ensuring strong governance, control, and stakeholder engagement. You'll:
- Be accountable for delivering projects to agreed time, cost, and quality targets
- Establish and manage projects in line with shareholder requirements and MBNL governance
- Plan, monitor, and report on progress, risks, issues, and interdependencies
- Proactively manage budgets, forecasting, and spend against benefits
- Maintain project coherence, quality, and integrity from initiation to closure
Who we're looking for: You're a delivery‐focused training project manager with strong planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills. You're comfortable working in complex environments and ensuring business adoption of change. You'll have:
- Proven experience leading large-scale training delivery within complex, multi-supplier or regulated environments.
- Strong capability in planning, governance, and execution, not just training design.
- Hands-on experience managing training via an LMS, including reporting and assurance.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across delivery partners and senior stakeholders.
- Highly organised, outcome-focused, and comfortable operating in delivery-critical phases of projects.
- Manage training through deployment using Learning Management System (LMS).
- Tracking and reporting training progress, competence, and readiness.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- PRINCE2, APMP, or equivalent project management qualification.
