Turn data into insight. Improve performance. Enable smarter infrastructure decisions. The Infrastructure Intelligence Lead plays a critical role in delivering insight that improves the reliability, efficiency, and value of MBNL’s network infrastructure. Sitting within the Infrastructure directorate, this role uses data, analytics, and performance frameworks to provide a clear view of asset performance—supporting maintenance, investment, and operational decision‑making. Working closely with Asset Management, Operations, and senior stakeholders, the role translates complex data into actionable insight that protects service, reduces risk, and drives continuous improvement.
Why this role matters: MBNL’s ability to deliver high‑quality network performance depends on strong data, clear insight, and informed decision‑making. This role provides the evidence base that underpins performance improvement, risk management, and investment prioritisation. By embedding consistent metrics, robust analytics, and clear reporting, this role helps MBNL operate more efficiently, respond proactively to risks, and maximise value from its infrastructure assets. This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days per week in our Central Reading office.
What you’ll be here to do: You’ll lead performance insight and analytics across infrastructure, enabling better decisions and stronger operational outcomes. You’ll:
- Define, track, and evolve KPIs and KRIs across asset health, reliability, availability, safety, cost, and service performance
- Build dashboards and reports that translate complex data into clear, actionable insight for stakeholders
- Analyse trends, variances, and root causes, quantifying impact on cost, risk, and service outcomes
- Benchmark performance against internal targets and industry standards
- Source, integrate, and assure data from multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Develop repeatable analytics and reporting processes to support consistent insight
- Support asset and reliability programmes, including maintenance strategy and lifecycle optimisation
- Provide evidence to inform investment decisions and operational interventions
- Support governance processes, including performance reporting, assurance, and audit requirements
- Identify opportunities for automation, improved data quality, and continuous improvement
Who we’re looking for: You’re a data‑driven professional with strong analytical capability and a focus on turning insight into practical outcomes. You’re comfortable working across technical and operational teams, communicating complex information clearly, and influencing decision‑making. You’ll bring:
- Experience in performance analysis within infrastructure, operations, or asset‑intensive environments
- Strong data and analytics skills (Excel, SQL, and Power BI or similar tools)
- Understanding of asset management concepts, including reliability and lifecycle planning
- The ability to translate data into clear recommendations for operational and senior stakeholders
If you also have the following, we’re especially interested in talking to you: Experience with EAM/CMMS systems, IoT/telemetry data, ISO 55000 frameworks, or regulated sectors. Professional certifications: Data/BI (e.g., Microsoft Power BI/Data Analyst Associate), Reliability/Asset Management (e.g., IAM Certificate, CMRP), Project/Process (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
