The IT, Data and Cyber Security function is a critical enabler for the MBNL business. Acting as a centre of excellence providing services to the business, the function is accountable for translating the business strategy into solutions to improve service, efficiency, and overall business performance. Reporting to the Head of Information Security, the Senior Security and Business Engagement Manager plays a key role in planning, tracking, and communicating the effectiveness of security remediations, operations, and risk management, aligning the security function with business needs. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in our Central Reading office.
What you will do:
- Take accountability for managing and coordinating the Information Security team’s demand, activities, and business engagement, ensuring proactive management of security outcomes.
- Manage and orchestrate large, complex security activities, solutions, and remediations to achieve business outcomes and performance targets.
- Align the security function with MBNL and shareholder security requirements to maximize benefits.
- Engage with the business to understand and manage demand for security services.
- Incorporate security requirements into key business activities and programmes.
- Manage dependencies between the business and security functions.
- Oversee the security team’s budget and resources.
- Define and manage the operating rhythm, activities, actions, and risks of the security team.
- Secure funding for security activities and manage budget demand.
- Ensure high-quality governance and reporting.
- Promote security awareness and training within the business.
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge of key Information Security frameworks and standards (CSF 2, CAF, ISO27001, TSA).
- Extensive experience managing large-scale security projects and portfolios.
- Proven ability to supervise and manage teams and key partners to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Formal Project/Programme Management experience, preferably in telecommunications or related industries such as SCADA or ICS.
- Experience delivering security solutions like SIEM, IDS, SOC, IAM, PAM, TVM.
- A history of implementing industry best practices and driving continuous improvement.
- Experience managing remote, cross-functional teams.
